The desire for a more natural life continues to grow. From the food we eat to the clothes we buy, more and more people are taking a more natural approach to their lives. It’s no surprise that this same desire also touches cosmetic surgery. Every year millions of women consider breast augmentation surgery to enhance the size and shape of their breasts. However, a breast implant isn’t always right for everyone. Colorado Plastic Surgery Center offers a natural breast augmentation option using the body’s own fat cells to enhance the fullness of the breasts.
Natural Breast Augmentation Overview
Fat transfer procedures (or fat grafting) are intended improve the fullness the desired area of the body. Fat cells are carefully removed from one area of the body, processed, and then transferred into the breasts. Results differ based on the amount of fat transferred into the breasts and the amount of fat that “takes” after being transferred into the breasts. Most fat transfer breast augmentation patients can anticipate a half of a cup size.
Pumping Up Results with BRAVA
The BRAVA breast enhancement system is a mechanical devise based on the concepts of tissue expansion. BRAVA utilizes tension-inducing cups that are placed on the breasts providing a gentle, continuous, three-dimensional “pull” on the breast tissue. This constant tension stimulates breast tissue regeneration and increases circulation to the breast tissue. Patients wear the BRAVA system for a minimum of 10 hours a day for a minimum of four weeks prior to the fat transfer procedure. Again, results vary from patient to patient, however the combination of BRAVA and fat transfer typically increases breast size by approximately one-cup size.
Below are before and after photos of a natural breast augmentation patient who used the BRAVA and fat transfer combination. This 29-year-old woman from Denver, Colorado wanted fuller breasts and a slimmer waist. She wore the BRAVA system for 4 weeks and then underwent a fat transfer removing fat cells from her abdomen, hips and flanks and 380cc were injected into each breast. She is shown before and six months after her surgery. Notice the overall increase in fullness around the breast. This shape enhancement is achieved through the combination of the three-dimensional pull from the BRAVA and the fat cell placement during the breast augmentation procedure. She is incredibly happy with her results.
Candidates for Natural Breast Augmentation
Natural breast augmentation is an exciting option for women who desire an organic approach to breast augmentation, however it is not for everyone. It’s important to have realistic expectations for the degree of breast enhancement achieved through natural breast augmentation. Women who primarily desire a fuller breast shape and have little to no breast deflation as a result of pregnancy or breastfeeding are the best candidates for a fat transfer breast augmentation procedure. Women with significant deflation or who desire a larger breast size may find that their desired results can best be achieved with breast implants.
